NEW YORK (AP) ? The sounds of wailing and sobbing are filling a Brooklyn street as mourners mark the death of a pregnant woman and her husband who were killed in a hit and run hours earlier. Their baby boy was born prematurely and survived.
The driver of a BMW slammed into the car carrying Nachman and Raizy Glauber, both 21, at an intersection in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn early Sunday.
A crowd of their fellow Orthodox Jews gathered on the street Sunday afternoon for their funerals. Over a loudspeaker, a man could be heard sobbing as he spoke over their caskets. Another service was planned for later Sunday in Monsey, N.Y., where Nachman Glauber grew up.
Police say both the driver of the BMW and a passenger fled and are being sought.
