Sony Mobile takes the reigns for Xperia Tablet z
The next-generation Sony Xperia Tablet specifications may have leaked on net via a couple tweets that have slipped out of China. The current Xperia Tablet S tooks its name from the Sony Xperia S flagship smartphone for 2012 and runs a Tegra 3 quad-core processor. The purported Sony Xperia Tablet Z would take its name from the new Sony Xperia Z, the Japanese company?s flagship smartphone for 2012.
According to the leak, the tablet is going internally by the codename ?Pollux? and a model designation of C690X. It is also said to be the first tablet to be developed by the new Sony Mobile division, suggesting that it could also take a different design approach to the Xperia Tablet S and Tablet S that feature a signature folded appearance. Given that it could be as thin as 6.9mm, it is almost certain that it will sport a new look.
Specification-wise, the new Xperia Tablet Z would incorporate the same 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon Pro matched with 2GB of RAM that powers the Xperia Z smartphone. LTE connectivity will also be an option. Its 10.1-inch display will have resolution of 1920x1200 pixels with a 2-megapixel camera on the front and an 8-megapixel rear camera. Storage will be 32GB while its battery is said to be 6000mAh which should be good for around 10 hours on the go.
