LAS VEGAS --?Officials say slightly more visitors came to Las Vegas in September compared with last year, and gambling revenue went up to match.
The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority said Thursday that nearly 3.4 million visitors came to Las Vegas in September. That's 1.8 percent up from the same month last year.
The number of rooms remained virtually flat, while citywide occupancy rates went up slightly to about 87 percent.
Average hotel rates were up one percent to $113 a night.
Clark County gambling revenues of $761 million were up year-over-year, with a 1.2 percent gain on the Las Vegas Strip and a 24 percent jump on the Boulder Strip.
Southern Nevada tourism is up 1.8 percent so far this year.?
